Wei Zhou is currently an Associate Professor and PhD Supervisor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University. He is a recipient of the Young Talent award from Guangdong province. He serves as a Young Editorial Board Member of Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis and Advances in Sample Preparation, and as a Guest Editor for Green Analytical Chemistry.

He received his bachelor's and PhD degrees from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wuhan University, under the supervision of Professor Zilin Chen. From 2021 to 2026, he conducted postdoctoral research in Professor Janusz Pawliszyn's group at the University of Waterloo, Canada.

His research focuses on bio-compatible solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and high-throughput mass spectrometry analysis, with particular interests in the development of advanced coating materials, high-throughput automated analytical platforms, and their applications in pharmaceutical, illicit drug, and environmental analysis. He has published more than 30 SCI-indexed papers as first author in journals including Nature Protocols, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Environmental Science & Technology, Advanced Science, and Analytical Chemistry.
