Dr. Ge received his B.S. degree in applied chemistry in 2003 from Dalian University of Technology, Ph.D degree in biochemical engineering in 2009 from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In 2017, Dr. Ge joined in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a full professor and vice dean of Institute of Interdisciplinary Integrative Medicine Research. Currently, his research interests are focused on the discovering of the active compounds from herbal medicines and other medicinal resources, as well as to decipher the interaction mechanisms between target proteins and phytochemicals. Over the past decade, Dr. Ge has developed over twenty fluorescence-based assays for imaging and sensing of target protein(s) and biomarkers, parts of them have been successfully used for drug discovery (such as screening and characterization of enzyme inhibitors/modulators), disease diagnosis (such as liver injury) and other biomedical fields. Furthermore, his group has developed more than ten drug candidates deriving from natural products. Now he is the author/coauthor of more than 380 publications in scientific journals, with the H-index of 60. His representative achievements have been published in the top journals such as J Am Chem Soc, Angew Chem Int Ed, Molecular Cancer, Adv Mater, ACS Nano, Adv Funct Mater, Redox Biology, Adv Sci, Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, Small, Biosens Bioelectron, ACS Sensors, Chem Sci, Coordin Chem Rev, Trend Anal Chem, J Med Chem, Anal Chem. He has also applied for more than 100 patents, while 40 of them have been authorized. He has been listed in the World's Top 2% Scientists and Career-Long Impact Rankings (Stanford University).
