Sunyoung Bae

Seoul Women’s University, Republic of Korea
Analytical chemist specializing in volatile organic compounds (VOCs), solvent-free microextraction, GC–MS, human volatilomics, and noninvasive biomarker discovery. Her research integrates functional sorbent/material design with in-needle microextraction (INME), instrumental analysis, chemometrics, and machine-learning-assisted interpretation. Current research themes include human body-odor VOCs, aging-associated chemical patterns, cancer-related VOC biomarkers, and sustainable sample-preparation strategies. She has authored or co-authored approximately 60 SCI(E)-indexed peer-reviewed papers and holds multiple patents related to analytical materials and body-odor biomarker technologies.
